In Kazakhstan and other countries where it does business, LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery completely complies with all applicable local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. The Company prioritizes environmentally friendly procedures and safe working conditions for its contractors and employees at all of its locations. When it comes to safety, LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery makes no distinction between company and contractor employees, granting both groups equal rights and enforcing the same HSE requirements. The HSE Policy allows all employees, including contractors, to refuse to conduct work that may harm the lives of others, their health, or the environment.

LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery, the world’s largest fuel and energy corporation and the leader of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry, recognizes its importance and obligations. As a result, high-level strategic health and safety objectives are currently being developed. The company aims to raise the bar for workplace and production safety. LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery highlighted zero deaths (FAR indicator, including contractors) and zero process safety occurrences (PSER-1 indicator) in its public statement Aksu Exploration Contribution to Implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other publications. Contractors and subcontractors account for a substantial share of the labor at LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery. As a result of developing its strategic HSE objectives, the company decided to collect information on essential HSE indicators and include contractors and subcontractors within the reporting perimeter.

LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery has adopted strong reporting transparency requirements, and all injuries, including those incurred by contractors, are recorded on a daily basis, no matter how little or serious. Each company’s management is accountable for reaching HSE targets on their own, establishing a personal example of safety, and acting as an HSE leader. HSE measurements are included in the company’s yearly key performance indicators for CEOs, heads of subsidiaries, and other persons. The Company manages its HSE activities using an Integrated Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSE IMS) that follows global best practices.

The HSE IMS is a component of the company’s overall management system and represents the procedures taken to effectively manage risks, opportunities, compliance control, and continuous HSE performance improvement. It also covers organizational structure and resources. Each year, the company validates that its HSE IMS satisfies ISO standards (and/or Kazakhstan GOST R ISO requirements). Collaborations that provide opportunities for information sharing and improved HSE processes are highly valued by the company. LLP, Kazakhstan Lubricants Refinery holds partnership forums on a regular basis.
